It starts runs and drives for short distances. It has new Coker white wall tires and a new interior upholstery. It has been in the Davis museum for several years. It will need some normal maintenance to be put back on the road but overall it is

drivable to load onto your trailer. This car was purchased in Pauls Valley, OK in 1955, by Leroy Looney when he was 16 vears old. Leroy sold it to his father Coy Looney a few years later. It never really left Pauls Valley until around 2001, when Coy's grandson, Terry Looney purchased it at the family estate sale.

It has been in Davis ever since. Terry allowed us to purchase it and give our little museum a little more local history. We decided to clean it up, repair the floors, restore the interior, and instead of painting, clear-coat the exterior in order to preserve the natural worn patina. in. V-8. It was replaced, reportedly in the Seventies, with a 292-cu. in. V-8 equipped with a two-barrel carburetor (engine casting number B9AE). it starts and runs well, with a functional automatic choke (the carburetor was replaced

in 2016). There is no known smoke on cold starts. The original air-cooled automatic transmission was replaced in 2005 with a rebuilt C4 three-speed automatic. shift smoothly. this T-bird was resprayed its original Raven Black in 2006 and that the base coat/clear coat paint job has held up well, with a few nicks and scratches in the finish, but no swirl marks, dings or other blemishes.

The repaint included some rust repair. The front and rear bumpers were reportedly re-chromed in 1991 and their respective finishes appear to have held up well.

The 1950 Custom Deluxe V-8 models used Dearborn’s venerable flathead V-8, displacing 239 cubic inches, and with a compression ratio of 6.8:1.

Fed by a two-barrel Holley carburetor, the L-head V-8 was rated at 100 horsepower. The engine in this Custom Deluxe is believed to be original to the car and while its exact rebuild history is unknown,

the engine is said to have accumulated very few miles since the Ford was restored. The engine is said to start readily from cold when the manual choke is engaged, and no issues are reported with the three-speed manual transmission. No leaks are reported from the powertrain.

An aftermarket welded aluminum radiator, with a thermostatically controlled fan, has been installed under the hood, with new hoses. The engine bay presents as otherwise stock, and shows only minor surface corrosion in a few areas.
